Carla Kenney, M.A., LMHC

President


Carla Kenney, M.A., LMHC, is the Vice President of OCD Rhode Island and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice in the commonwealth of Massachusetts. She was trained at the OCD Institute at McLean Hospital and began working in the field of psychiatry in 1998. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts and was awarded certificates in Child & Family Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy through the Aaron T. Beck Institute for Cognitive Studies.

Carla provides office, community and home-based therapy to children, adolescents, and adults with OCD and related disorders. She has a special interest in children and teens diagnosed with Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcus (PANDAS) and Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS).

Carla uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) as her primary treatment models.

Carla is a professional member of the International OCD Foundation and is also President of OCD Massachusetts. She founded the OCD & Related Disorders Lecture Series at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA and has a private practice in Worcester and Pembroke, MA.

Ryan J. Glode, M.A., LMHC

Founder and Vice President


Ryan J. Glode, M.A., LMHC, is the President and Founder of OCD Rhode Island, an official affiliate of the International OCD Foundation, the founder of the OCD & Related Disorders Lecture Series at Butler Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, and the Director of Child and Adolescent OCD Services at RICBT a group psychotherapy practice specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Coaching.

Ryan received his Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts where he was trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). He completed his post graduate training at the Child and Adolescent OCD Institute at McLean Hospital where he specialized in the treatment of children and adolescents with severe, treatment resistant OCD and anxiety utilizing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Ryan specializes in working with children, adolescents and adults with OCD and related anxiety disorders. His approach is based on the current principles of evidenced-based practice using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).


Barbara-Ann Borden, M.A.

General Board Member


Barbara-Ann Borden, M.A., is the Peer Support Facilitator for the OCD support group at Butler Hospital in Providence, RI. She earned her bachelors degree in psychology from Rhode Island College and went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Assumption College in Worcester, MA.

Barbara-Ann started working in human services in 1989 and went on to work with individuals with varying disabilities for the next 26 years. She has experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, chronic persistent mental illness, physical disabilities, & disabled Veterans.

Barbara-Ann has lived with OCD her entire life but was not formally diagnosed until the age of 17. She has completed Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) treatment twice with great success. Having lived experience with OCD has aided Barbara-Ann in advocating for better staff training in OCD throughout her career and led her to develop a training curriculum for several agencies she worked for.


Jena Lerch, MSN, PMHNP-BC, APRN

General Board Member


Jena Lerch, MSN, APRN, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She currently sees patients for medication management and therapy at Rhode Island Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (RICBT). Jena has a background in neuroscience focused clinical research and previously worked as a nurse on a neuroscience unit at Baptist Hospital in Miami. 

Jena has received a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and Master’s degree in Nursing. Jena was trained in exposure and response prevention with the Mental Health Interventions and Technology (MINT) Anxiety program at Florida International University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, and her DNP project involves enhancing the identification of OCD and knowledge regarding the utilization of exposure and response prevention among outpatient mental health providers. 

As a provider with lived experience with OCD, Jena is passionate about working to combat mental health stigma, increasing awareness of OCD, and improving access to evidence-based treatments for OCD.
